Getabeardie Live Food Locusts Super-Packs include roughly twice as many Locusts per pack as our pre-packs, ranging from 10-12mm to 60-80mm. Live locusts are an excellent live reptile food and a good alternative to crickets and other insects because they are slow-moving.
Adult Locusts are also a colourful and attractive meal for reptiles with movement problems or disabilities. Their higher protein level is also beneficial for egg-laying lizards, such as Bearded dragons. Overall, Locusts are outstanding live food insects, easily spotted thanks to their bright yellow wing case, and nutritious due to their high vegetable gut content.

How long do live Locusts last?
Locusts are an attractive food source because they can last over a month if cared for correctly. They boast an amazing growth rate, so even small Locusts will often grow to large adults before feeding.
Will live Locusts bite my pet?
Many reptile keepers are concerned about Locusts biting their pets, however, Locusts are vegetarians and will rarely bite or attack predators. In some cases, Locusts may attempt to nip your pet to protect themselves, however as they are slightly slower moving than other insects, most insect eaters will be able to handle them.
